Whitchurch Rugby Club

"Warm er up Bill...."

It is with sadness that we share the passing of Club legend Bill Dig.

We have enough memories of antics with Bill to write a book...  The Mick Hoskins roof walk, concrete budda from Rugely, the dog from Alphraham, hijacked newly wedded bride in Nomans Heath, shotguns from Newport, fire extinguishers, electrical black out in Hodnet, lost in the fog in Ludlow, Snowdrifts in Leek....

Bill's funeral will be held at the Parish Church (top of the High Street in Whitchurch) at 11am on Monday 12th July.

Welcome

Whitchurch 1st XV 2009-2010 Season

The purpose of this site is to keep all our members and other interested parties up to speed with what is happening at the club, how the rugby sides are doing and to generally be an easy point of reference for all sorts of information, we hope you find it informative. Should you find an error or have something constructive to say please feel free to contact me.

As for rugby at the club we are proud to run 4 senior sides, 1 ladies side, 1 colts team and 10 mini and junior sides.

The aims of the club are simple;

  • Top notch rugby: To be the highest ranked truly amateur rugby club in the Midlands/North of England, if not the country.
  • Whitchurch focused: To provide adult residents of Whitchurch, and its environs, with a place to play and watch decent rugby and an infrastructure for their children to learn the game.
  • Financially sensible: To run the club in a financially prudent manner, aiming to be the best we can be but not risking the future in a desire for short term success.
  • But most of all to have fun and to be sociable.
