Notices & News

Whitchurch Rugby Club

Welcome

1st XVThe purpose of this site is to keep all our members and other interested parties up to speed with what is happening at the club, how the rugby sides are doing and to generally be an easy point of reference for all sorts of information, we hope you find it informative. Should you find an error or have something constructive to say please feel free to contact me.

As for rugby at the club we are proud to run 4 senior sides, 1 ladies side, 1 colts team and 10 mini and junior sides.

The aims of the club are simple;

  • Top notch rugby: To be the highest ranked truly amateur rugby club in the Midlands/North of England, if not the country.
  • Whitchurch focused: To provide adult residents of Whitchurch, and its environs, with a place to play and watch decent rugby and an infrastructure for their children to learn the game.
  • Financially sensible: To run the club in a financially prudent manner, aiming to be the best we can be but not risking the future in a desire for short term success.
  • But most of all to have fun and to be sociable.

Masquerade Ball

Masquerade BallThe Club is holding its main fund-raising event of the year on Saturday 12th September and would very much like you to come along and join the fun.

The Rugby Club Ball is always a high poiint in the Clubs Social Calendar.  The evening begins at 7.30pm with a Bubbly Reception followed by a sumptuous meal in our fabulous Marquee.  As well as a number of fun fund-raising games, there is an Auction for lots that our very generous benefactors have donated.  In the past these have included Signed International Shirts, Shooting Days with local land owners and the services of the First Team Players for the day!

There will be dancing into the early hours to the sounds of local band Untitled States during an evening of superb fun and merriment!

Sunday mornings watching our children play are wonderful but this event is for you!  Come and enjoy the company of "grown-ups", have a few drinks, get to know the other parents and have a night to remember.

Our children get a great deal out of their rugby for very nominal fees and the coaches give up their time for free, this is your way of putting something back whilst having the most amazing night.

Please come along for a night to remember and support the efforts of Whitchurch Rugby Club.

Many thanks indeed.

On behalf of The Rugby Ball Committee.
